Delores Jean Mize

Dolores Jean Mize, known as Jean Mize, passed away peacefully at home in Montana, February 16, 2023. She was 97 years old. She moved many times during her life establishing residences in Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, Nevada and Montana.

She was honored in a family-attended graveside service in Waynesville NC on March 4th.

Jean was born on January 26, 1926 in Ohio. She was the last surviving sibling of nine; Harold Rauch, Robert Rauch, Rose Rauch Huggins, Alice Rauch Ball, Ruth Rauch Wade, Lois Rauch Higgins, Wayne Rauch and Carl Rauch. Her husband Frank Mize and her daughter Judy Mize Womack also preceded her in death.

Jean had a long and happy life working in many different fields, among others, as a bookkeeper, later owning a restaurant and later managing a marina in Florida. She was very creative and loved making braided rugs and beautiful crafts, sewing, decorating and gardening. She also loved animals.

Aunt Jean is survived by many loving nieces and nephews who were impacted by her life as she nurtured, blessed and showed them Christian love. She will be missed by many.
