Cecil D. Jones

Cecil D. Jones, age 88, of Waynesville, NC went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. Cecil was born in Haywood County on October 15, 1934 to the late Talmage and Oberia Jones.

Cecil owned and operated his own HVAC business for over 30 years in Haywood County. Many in our community would know him by his talented wood working.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Jones; siblings, Harley and Julius Jones, Hettie Frady, Nettie Norman, Lucille Norman, and Mildred Jones.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Dwayne Jones and wife Kim, Darlene Queen, Dianne Burnette, and Debbie Simpson; sister, Jessie Davis; grandchildren, Cindy Bolden, Shelley Shelton, Shannon O'Riley, Jesse Phillips and Aaron Jones; great grandchildren, Austin, Tyler, and Riley Bolden, Hunter and Alaina O'Riley, Chloe and Jaxon Shelton and Clay Phillips; and great great grandchildren, Myles and Emerson Bolden; and special friends Wade Duncan, Johnny Jones and Larry O'Riley.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Garrett Funeral Home with Reverend's Shannon O'Riley and Cameron Bolden officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow services on Sunday at Buchanan Cemetery.
