Faye Coleman Barwick, 85, of Black Mountain, NC and formerly of Wilmington, NC passed away on July 6, 2023. Faye was born in Cumberland County, North Carolina on October 7, 1937, to the late George Lacey Coleman, Sr. and Dorothy Jones Coleman. She grew up in Fayetteville, NC and graduated from Massey Hill High School in 1955. She attended Worth Business College. She was married to the late Marion Gray Barwick for 43 years.
She was a homemaker and a creative spirit. From cooking to home décor, refinishing antiques to remodeling houses, gardening to watercolor painting, child play to poetry writing, her talent amazed us. She was a searcher of truth and healing was her strong focus. She touched many lives with her acceptance and love. She delighted in the young lives of her grandchildren and they adored her. To know her was to love her.
Faye is survived by her daughter Carla and her husband Scott and their twin daughters Haley and Logan Crouch of Wilmington; her son, Eric and his wife Peggy of Wilmington; Eric’s son Dustin and his wife Lucy Barwick and their children of Arkansas. She is also survived by two siblings George L. Coleman, Jr. and Jean Coleman Wright of Fayetteville, two nephews Keith and Kevin Coleman, and many dear friends.
We are evermore grateful to her caregiver family who lovingly cared for her “on the farm” in the beautiful green mountains at Autumn View.
To honor her wishes there will be no funeral service. Her ashes will be lovingly spread in an earthly place of peace that she so enjoyed.
Death has nothing to do with going away.
The sun sets.
The moon sets.
But they are not gone.
