Ann Derrick Ruff

Waynesville-Ann Derrick Ruff, 89, died on Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Mission Hospital-Memorial Campus. Ann was born in Haywood County on August 27, 1927, to the late Arthur Newman Derrick and the late Nina McCall Derrick. Ann enjoyed yard sales, flea markets, and metal detecting. Most of all she loved spending time with her “boys” and her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Ruff; her daughter Joyce Ann Ruff; and five brothers and three sisters. Ann is survived by her sons, Clifford Ruff (Joann) and Tony Ruff (Terri); her grandchildren, Matthew Ruff, Leisa Newman (Brian), and Beth McMahan (Brian); her great-grandchildren, Luke Newman, McKenzie McMahan, and Kelli Chasteen (John); and her great-great-grandson, Peyton Chasteen. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, April 18, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Tim Lolley officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-3 PM prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Ann’s son, Tony Ruff.
