Wilmer "Harold" Haines, 82, of Spraggs, Pennsylvania passed away at 5:20 PM on Monday, January 1, 2024 at home. Harold was born February 6, 1941 in Kirby, Pennsylvania a son of the late Wilmer Mayo Haines and Ethel Pearl Fox Haines. Harold was a member of the Spraggs United Methodist Church. He was a veteran, having served in the US Army in the 82nd Airborne Division. Harold was a mechanic, and worked on all kinds of farming equipment as long as his health permitted. He enjoyed working and playing with model trains with his good friend Rev. Donald Wilson over the last 15 years. He was well known for his knife making skills over the years and gave many away as gifts. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. His wife Susan Henderson Haines, whom he married on July 15, 1967 survives. Also surviving are 2 Daughters: Marnie (Jeff) Blake of Spraggs, PA and Cheryl (Jim) Goforth of Bobtown, PA, 1 Son: Robert (Patricia) Haines of Mount Morris, PA, 6 Grandchildren, 4 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Sister: Ethel Pearl Simmons pf Spraggs, PA, 2 Brothers: Van (Lorraine) Haines of Wadestown, WV, Kenneth (Twyla) Haines of Mount Morris, PA and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is his sister Martha Statler-Bell. Friends will received on Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the time of service in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc. 197 N. Maiden St. Waynesburg, PA 15370 Shane M. Ayers, Director with Rev. Dr. Donald Wilson and Pastor Monica Calvert officiating. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
