He was born July 26, 1939 in Waynesburg, a son of the late William Marvin Huffman and Ruth Stewart Huffman.
He graduated from Waynesburg High School in the class of 1957 and received a Bachelors’ degree from Waynesburg College in 1961.
Worked with his father at Huffman Cleaners in Waynesburg, which he continued to operate until 2009. Bill was an auctioneer for 44 years and for the past 10 years specialized in coin auctions. He had also taught math in Hilton, New York.
He served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard as a supply sergeant for eight years.
Bill enjoyed baseball and tried out for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He also enjoyed playing cards.
He was a member of the Hopewell Grace Brethren Church. He was also a member of Waynesburg Lodge No. 153 Free & Accepted Masons, Waynesburg Moose Lodge 461, and the American Legion in Washington.
Surviving are Carol Huffman of Waynesburg, two daughters, Kimberly Bedilion (David) of Waynesburg and Jacquelyn Baker (Brian) of New Enterprise; two grandchildren, Lance Huffman (Teah) and Morgan Bedilion; three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Swope and Cole Huffman and Karlynn Huffman, and an aunt, Lee Correne Fuller of Rochester, NY.
Friends will be received 6 pm to 8 pm, Thursday, and 11 am to 12 pm, the hour of services on Friday, July 9, 2021, in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High St., Waynesburg with Rev. Donald Wilson and Pastor Mark Lingenfelter officiating followed burial in Greene County Memorial Park. Graveside military honors will be accorded by the Greene County Honor Guard. Waynesburg Lodge No 153 F.& A. M. will hold Masonic Services at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
