He was born December 21, 1939 in Morgantown, WV, a son of the late Charles and Ester Keefer Woods.
Tom was a graduate of Morgantown High School and then served in the United States Army.
He worked as a coal miner and then as a Federal Mine Inspector with MSHA.
Surviving are nine children, Debbie Roberts of New Freeport, Thomas A. Woods Jr. of Louisville, KY, Mark A. Woods of Louisville, KY, John Woods of Waynesburg, Phillip A. Woods of Waynesburg, Vincent Woods of Louisville, Scott Woods of Mt. PLeasant, MI, and Becky Woods of Louisville, KY; Several grand and great grandchildren.
