Shirley S. Wise

She was born on July 3, 1933 to the late Edward and Evelyn Staggers Stewart. She graduated from Richhill High School. In 1960, as a single mother she purchased a home and moved to Waynesburg. To care for her family, she rented rooms in her home, operated a small beauty salon (Wise's Beauty Salon), and worked full-time at Greene County Memorial Hospital as a secretary - all while attending Waynesburg College. She would go on to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Education and eventually a Master's Degree in Reading from West Virginia University. She taught Elementary Education for Central Greene School District for 30 years.

She enjoyed going to musical theatre in Pittsburgh, sewing, crafts, and watching Days Of Our Lives.

She is survived by her two children, Craig Wise and Deborah Zewe (Mike); and grandchild, Cheri Zewe.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Humane Society of Greene County would be appreciated. Services will be private.
