She was born December 16, 1949 at Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Lewis J. and Pearl Pixler Rush.
She was a 1967 graduate of Waynesburg High School and also graduated from Penn Commercial Business College.
Ms. Rush worked for 32 years for the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in Waynesburg, where she started as a clerk and retired as a caseworker. She was currently employed as a driver for Peterman Bus Company in the West Greene School District.
She was a lifetime resident of Waynesburg and a member of the First Christian Church.
Ms. Rush was a member of Women of the Moose Chapter 888 in Waynesburg where she was a Past Senior Regent and Star Recorder. She had also served as an Assistant Troop Leader for the Girl Scouts of America; a Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack 1280; and Secretary of Waynesburg Little League Football. She was past member of the Daughters of America.
Surviving are a son, Eric R. Rush of Waynesburg; a brother, Lewis J. “Bud” Rush, U.S. Army Retired of San Antonio, TX; a niece, Joy McClurg Harrison of Trophy Club, TX; her special grandniece and grandnephew, Kelsey and Jacob Harrison; special friends, Nathan, Matthew, and Noah Haggerty; and her beloved dog and companion, Prissy.
Deceased are two brothers, Alvin" Sonny” Rush and Glenn Pixler; 2 sisters, Helen Marlene Deusenberry and an infant sister, Carolyn Jean; and a niece, Brenda L. Pierce.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High St., Waynesburg where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 8, 2012 with Mike Hasselbring, minister officiating followed by burial at Greene County Memorial Park in Morgan Township. The Waynesburg Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company will hold visitation at 6:00 p.m. Friday and Women of the Moose Chapter 888 will hold services at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
