Mary Lee Headlee, age 80, of Waynesburg, PA crossed over to Heaven on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 10:40 PM at her home in the arms of her daughter. In the week leading up to her death, she had the opportunity to be surrounded by family and friends.
She was born on December 24, 1942 In Greene County, PA to the late Mark and Mary Marchio Booth. She graduated from Waynesburg High School in 1960 and from The Presbyterian University Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA in 1963. She received her Bachelor's of Science in Education from California State College of Pennsylvania in 1975. Over the years she worked at Greene County Memorial Hospital as an O.R. Supervisor, Infectious Control Nurse, and Employee Health Administrator. Mary Lee continued her recertification of her nursing license until her death. She was a dedicated member of The Mount Calvary United Methodist Church, which became a second family to her. Mary Lee loved dancing, motorcycle-riding, lounging at the swimming pool, and socializing with her friends - her favorite time of year was the Fall - where she loved to play in the leaves with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Robert V. Headlee; children, Robert B. Headlee (Judy Gnann) of Hilton Head, SC, Melissa Headlee-Kendall (Kasey Kendall) of Volant, PA; grandchildren, Bailey E. Headlee, Taylor G. Kendall, and Tanner B. Kendall; and sister, Martha Booth Madsen.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 30 from 10:30 AM until 12:00 PM, the time of service, at Mount Calvary United Methodist Church at the corner of Garards Fort and Carmichaels Road in Garards Fort, PA. Interment will follow at Garards Fort Cemetery. A reception for friends and family will be held at 3 PM at Brady's Roadhouse, 555 W. High St. in Waynesburg.
