She was born April 25, 1925 in New Freeport, a daughter of the late Roscoe and Ruth Henderson Burnfield.
On January 24, 1942 she married Frank V. Acklin Jr., Who died December 15, 1999.
Mrs. Acklin resided most of her life in Waynesburg. She had worked in the Berkowitz Shirt Factory, Bishoff Creamery, and Waynesburg Central High School.
She was a member of the Waynesburg Bible Chapel and a former member of the First Baptist Church of Waynesburg. She volunteered at the Waynesburg Senior Citizen’s Center where she enjoyed assembling jigsaw puzzles with her friends. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family.
Surviving are a daughter Barbara Stewart (Kenneth) of Waynesburg; two sons, Charles F. Acklin (Wanda) of Charlotte, NC and Timothy J. Acklin (Carla) of Rices Landing; six grandchildren, Kimberly Butterworth, Keith Acklin, Bill Acklin, Darin Acklin, Alyssa Sines, and Mona Stewart; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Stanley Burnfield (Sally) of Greensburg
Deceased are two grandsons, Marty Stewart and David Stewart; a great-granddaughter, Rebecca Stewart; and a half-sister, Leoda Brewer.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Tuesday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 W. High St., Waynesburg, where services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, October 11, 2107 with Rev. Larry Douglas officiating followed by burial in Oakmont Cemetery at Waynesburg. Memorial contribution may be made to Hands and Feet Ministries co/ Waynesburg Bible Chapel, 800 E.
