He was born October 18, 1945, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Joe and Laura Kowalczyk Katruska.
Joe was a 1963 graduate of Beth-Center High School and Respiratory Therapy School at Mercy
Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He had worked as a respiratory therapist, a coal miner and custodian at Central Greene School District.
Joe served in the Pennsylvania National Guard at Waynesburg.
He was a member of Oakview United Methodist Church; the American Legion Post #330, the Moose Lodge #461.
Joe coached Little League baseball, wrestling, and men’s softball. He enjoyed playing golf with his friends.
On June 1, 1973, he married Jeanne F. Miller, who survives.
Also surviving are four children, Joseph (Rachelle) Katruska of Clarksville, Jeffrey (Erica) Katruska of Pittsburgh, Josh (Amy) Katruska of Pittsburgh, and Pamela Ann Katruska of Ft. Myers, FL; five grandchildren, Jillian Katruska, Jacob Katruska, Joelle Katruska, Isaac Brignoni and Mason Brignoni; a brother Thomas (Cindy) Katruska of Richeyville.
Friends will be received from 3 to 7 pm, on Monday, October 31, 2022, in the Behm Funeral Home, 182 W. High St., Waynesburg, PA 15370, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 11:00 am, with Pastor Susan Hoover officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg.
