Jon R. "Chip" Lightner, 60, died unexpectedly on April 12th, 2024. Chip enjoyed the outdoors. He liked fishing and hunting, especially large game. His loyal companion Champ, his chocolate lab, was always by his side. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler and motorcycle. He liked to vacation at the beach, especially Key West, Florida.
Chip was the owner of Chip’s Barbershop where he had cut hair for over 30 years. To some he was a hair artist and not just a stylist. The barbershop was at times, a gathering place for a lot of gentlemen to hang out while awaiting their haircut.
He made his career working in the oil and gas industry in many different aspects of the field.
Chip spent a lot of time with his companion and friend Merlyn Econg Sondericker. They enjoyed going out to eat and shopping together.
Chip was preceded in death by his parents Richard B. and Nola H Lightner. Chip is survived by his sister Marti and husband Jeremy Kern of Waynesburg. Also surviving are his nephew Aidan and nieces Adysan and Ashdyn.
There will be a greeting of friends on April 30th, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc. 197 N. Maiden St. Waynesburg, PA 15370 Shane M.
