Jim Higgins, 78, of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania passed away at 12:15 AM on Saturday, March 30, 2024 in WeCare Waynesburg, PA after a short illness. Jim was born December 2, 1945 in Waynesburg, PA, a son of the late James Franklin Higgins and Doris Phillips Higgins. Jim was a member of the Fairall United Methodist Church in Whiteley Twp., PA. He was a Veteran of the US Army, having served with the Military Police. Jim was a lifetime member of the Waynesburg Moose Lodge #461 as well as a member of the James Farrell American Legion Post #330, also of Waynesburg. Jim worked as an operator and mechanic for Carnegie Gas Co., which later became Equitable Gas Co. from which he retired. His Wife: Sharon L. Higgins died on December 20, 2022. Surviving are 1 Daughter: Kelly J. Higgins of East Moline, Ill., 3 Sons: Jeffrey (Tammy) Higgins of Wendell, NC, Doug Higgins of Waynesburg, PA, Michael (Crystal) Higgins of Waynesburg, PA, 5 Grandchildren, 5 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Sister: Lois Bowlen of Waynesburg, PA, 1 Brother: Joe (Debbie) Higgins of Waynesburg, PA and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are 2 Sisters- Margaret Higgins and Mary Jo Shriver. There will be visitation from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc. 197 N. Maiden St. Waynesburg, PA 15370 Shane M. Ayers, Director where services will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Lanfer Simpson officiating.
