He was born June 5, 1939, in Deep Valley, Greene County, a son of the late James E. and Margaret Belle Masters Cooper.
Jack worked as a radio technician for Equitable Gas Company. In addition, he was the owner of Cooper Communications, Cooper Cable Company and Fire Extinguisher Sales and Service.
He was a dedicated fireman with over 60 years of service to the New Freeport Volunteer Fire Company and Center Township Volunteer Fire Company. He also served both companies as a former Chief.
Jack was also an avid antique car enthusiast and collector.
He was a former member of the Church of Christ in New Freeport and Church of God in Mt. Carmel.
On May 28, 1988, he married Sherry Headley, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, David Cooper and Dave Schwartz of Columbus, OH, Cathy Cooper and Karen Barendregt of Black Diamond, WA, and Belinda Kerr of Waynesburg, three grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Deceased are a grandson, Byron Keith Kerr, a sister, Lillian Kathleen Baker, three brothers, George Chester Cooper, James Forrest Cooper and Joseph Dean Cooper.
