Carl Trump, 73, of Waynesburg, passed away the morning of Tuesday, July 2 at home with his daughters and brother close by. Though he will be dearly missed, his family takes comfort knowing he is reunited with the love of his life, Patsy Trump, whose absence he felt profoundly since her passing in May 2023.
Carl was born in Clarksville, PA, the eldest son of Carl Norman and Faye Alma Trump. Always a little mischievous and possessing a wicked sense of humor, Carl often enjoyed retelling the adventures of his youth growing up along the river. He valued family and friendship above all else and was protective, loyal, and generous to all he those he loved and cared for. He was his nephew Tim Trump’s biggest fan and loved attending his high school and college football games.
Carl knew adversity in his youth, but he harnessed it to build a successful life and become a deeply kind and empathetic person. Carl graduated from Beth Center High School in 1970 and put himself through school at California University of Pennsylvania where he earned his teaching degree in 1976. He worked as an educator for the Central Greene School District for 30 years and impacted the lives of countless students.
Above all else, Carl was a loving husband and father. He took great pride in his home, his wife, his daughters, and his grandchildren. He spent almost 40 years in his home on Garards Fort Rd. and always commented on how blessed he was to have such wonderful neighbors as Robert and Nancy Palmer and Brian and Chera Strelick.
Carl loved nature and had a deep respect for all living things. He loved animals, especially Yorkshire Terriers, and enjoyed the companionship of Wicket, Corky, Jax, Heaven, Sammy, and Evie over the years.
Carl was a very intelligent man who enjoyed the news and politics. He loved music, especially the golden oldies of the 50’s and 60’s. He was also a spiritual man who took great comfort in his faith and very much enjoyed discussing life and spirituality with his lifelong friend, Ford Campbell.
Carl is survived by his daughters, Megan Trump and Amanda Thomas; grandchildren, Wyatt Thomas, Camille Pemberton, and Clinton Thomas; sister Phyllis (James) Jenkins; brother, Kenneth Trump; sister, Helen Trump; and brother-in-law, Ralph "Sonny" (Karen) Wilson.
Carl was preceded in death by his mother and father; sisters, Amy Trump and Kathleen Matiyasic; brother, David (Rosemary) Trump; father-in-law Ralph Wilson; mother-in-law Pauline Wilson; sisters-in-law Paula Kiger and Penny (Alan) Reagan; brother-in-law, David (Darlene) Wilson; and son-in-law, Leslie Pemberton II.
In accordance with his wishes, no visitation or services are planned at this time. Carl and Patsy’s ashes will be incorporated into a memorial garden at the home they built together and raised their family in. Their daughters do hope to honor their parents’ commitment to education in this community with a memorial scholarship in their honor sometime in the future.
