Bessie J. Martin

She was born October 31st, 1933, a daughter of the late Byron Ealy and Hazel Kahlbaugh Ealy in East Finley Township, Washington County.

On June 24th, 1952, she married Raymond W. Martin, who died August 10, 2023.

Bessie was a homemaker who enjoyed baking cakes for many special occasions, baking holiday cookies, playing cards and sewing. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Diane Yost and Carolyn Martin, four sons, Jerry (Rita) Martin, Donald Martin, Mike (Shelley) Martin and Dave Martin; 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, a sister Margaret Johns, along with a brother Duane Ealy.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband, two brothers, Gerald, and Tom Ealy, three sisters Gwen Roupe, Eldora Tush, and Nancy Tharp, four brothers-in-laws, a sister-in-law, two sons-in-law, Harvey Miller, and Kevin Yost and two great-great grandchildren.

A special heart felt thank you to her loving and supportive care givers, and OSPTA Hospice.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Behm Funeral Home, 182 W. High Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Mike Lyons, officiating.
