She was born January 15, 1942 in Botetourt County to the late James H. and Lucille C. Clark Stockman.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Wayside Baptist Church.
Shirley was a member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary, enjoyed collecting dolls and cooking for her family.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons; Harvey R. Fitzgerald, Jr., Michael Fitzgerald; a daughter, Tammy Witt; two brothers, Robert and Billy Stockman; a sister, Elsie Gibson and two step-children; Dale Fitzgerald and Diane Painter.
Survivors include a daughter, Kim Campbell and husband Tony; step-sons, Gary Fitzgerald and wife Amy, Steve Fitzgerald and wife Cheryl, Tommy Fitzgerald and wife Dana; step-daughters, Vicky Lam, Lisa Phillips and husband Marvin, Beth Fitzgerald; daughters-in-law, Jane Fitzgerald and Kathy Fitzgerald; son-in-law, Donnie Painter; as well as a number of grand and great grandchildren.
She also leaves special friends Harry and Evelyn Milstead and Morris and Shirley Puckett.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 23, 2015 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., with Pastor Louise Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Jesse McCambridge, Brian Marks, Ross Price, Kenny Harris, Daniel Richardson and Matthew Czaplinski.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grand and great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the funeral home.
The casket will be closed and there will be no public viewing.
