Mrs. Clawson was born on March 1, 1935 in Pittsburgh, PA and was the daughter of the late William Warren and Esther Anne (Burge) Bagaley. She worked for Westinghouse early in her career, and later worked as an IRA Manager for several financial institutions in the northern Pittsburgh area. She volunteered at Passavant Hospital for 20 years after her retirement. Shirley was a member of Parkwood Presbyterian Church and most recently attended Hampton Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the local AARP Chapter. Mrs. Clawson enjoyed bowling and traveling. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, David Marion Clawson.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Clawson is survived by her children, David M. Clawson Jr., and wife Teresa of Stuarts Draft, VA; Daryl L. Mocilnikar and husband Floyd of Savannah, GA; 10 grandchildren, Andrew W. Clawson (Courtney), Sarah E. Miller (Kevin), Jeremy D. Clawson, Allyson L. Clawson, Joshua D. Neimetz (Kristiana), Jonathan A. Neimetz, Jordan N. Neimetz (Leah), Jacob M. Edwards, Brooke E. Edwards; Brianna M. Collins (James), and 9 great-grandchildren. Near to her heart were 2 sister-laws, Norma J. Ivory (Harry) and Florence T. Clawson (Paul). Six nieces and nephews along with many cousins comprised her remaining family.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Dean V. Clawson.
A committal service will be held on December 3, 2022 at 2 PM at Mount Royal Cemetery in Glenshaw, PA, with Pastor Jordan Neimetz officiating.
