

Mrs. Simmons was born on January 9, 1943, in Randolph, County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Donald D. and Bessie Kerns Pritt. She retired from the former General Electric/Genicom Company of Waynesboro.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Simmons; and a nephew, Bryn Pritt.
Survivors include a son, Louis Simmons of Lyndhurst; two daughters, Lisa Simmons of Lyndhurst and Leslie Simmons of Waynesboro; three brothers, Richard Pritt and his wife, Rose, of Beverly, Jimmy Pritt and his wife, Sue, and Kenny Pritt, all of Beverly, West Virginia; two sisters, Shirley Lawson of Woodstock, Erma Wright and her husband Eddie of Northern Virginia, four grandchildren, Dustin Simmons, Deana Simmons, David Meadows, Jacob Meadows, brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Shelia Simmons, sister-in-law Muggins Wamsley, her long time partner, Lewis Robertson, special friend, Pat Yowell, in-laws, Willard and Bernadine Simmons, as well as a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Following cremation there will be no formal services.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Monday, November 7, 2011 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, (casual attire is requested) and other times at the residence of her daughter, Lisa Simmons of 2774 Mt. Torrey Rd., Lyndhurst.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wilson Volunteer Fire Company, P O Box 157 Lyndhurst, Virginia 22952.
