Sharon Lee (Pritchett) Jefferson, 70, of Waynesboro passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Augusta Health. She was born in Harrisonburg on March 18, 1947, a daughter of the late Joffre Rice and Treva Lee (Emerson) Pritchett.
Sharon received her associate’s degree from the University of Virginia. She worked for 26 years as an x-ray technician at Orthopedic Associates. Sharon was an active member of Pleasant Hill Church of The Brethren; where she served as the head chairmen of the witness and outreach programs. Shopping, eating out, and doting over her grandsons were a few of her favorite hobbies. Sharon will be remembered for her compassion towards others and her witty humor.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was greeted into Heaven by her four legged friend, Chico.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 23 years, Floyd Ray Jefferson, Sr.; children, Jeff Wimer and girlfriend, Crystie Chittum and Kim Shifflett and husband, Jimmy all of Waynesboro; step children, Ray, Jr., Robin, Tammy, and Sonya; grandchildren, Brandon Taylor and girlfriend, Christy Painter, Zach Fisher, and Jakob Wimer; twin brother, Joffre Lee Pritchett of Williamsburg; fur babies, Max and Lucy; as well numerous extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 17, 2017 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Elk Run Cemetery, 100 Elk Run Dr., Elkton, VA 22827.
Active pallbearers will be Brandon Taylor, Zach Fisher, Jakob Wimer, Josh Irvine, Terry Spencer, and Jimmy Shifflett. Honorary pallbearer will be her son, Jeff Wimer.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Waynesboro First Aid Crew, 201 W Broad St, Waynesboro and/ or the University of Virginia Transplant Patient Assistance Fund, 1215 Lee Street, Charlottesville, VA 22903.
