Roger Dale Harner, 69, of Crimora, passed away on Tuesday evening, February 5, 2013, at the Shenandoah Hospice House. He was born on November 2, 1943, in Staunton, a son of the late William Kemper and Mary Margaret Snyder Harner. Roger was a member of the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, where he was a choir member and a member of the Get Happy with the Lord Group. He enjoyed playing Church softball and also with other teams. He was a member of the Waynesboro Elks Lodge No. 2270 where he was Chaplain, a member of the scholarship and youth camp committees. He was active in playing horseshoes, and helping with the Christmas Boxes for the Needy. He also enjoyed bowling where he bowled with several teams in the area. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Ann Davis Harner; two sons, Kemper Lee Harner of Lauren, South Carolina, and Gregory Dale Harner of Weyers Cave; one daughter, Sharon Travis of Crimora; two brothers, Bobby Harner of Waynesboro and Billy Harner of Albeine, Texas; grandchildren, Kandi, Brooke, Nick, Kenny and Eric; one great-granddaughter, Shyann. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren with Pastor Dan Wine officiating. The Waynesboro Elks Lodge No. 2270 will conduct services following the Celebration of Life service. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2013, at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes of Waynesboro. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. John W.
