Mr. Baldwin was born on March 8, 1944 in Logan, WV and was a son of the late Cecil Dell and Weltha Marie (Adkins) Baldwin. Roger served in the United States Army Reserves for more than 20 years. He was a longtime member of Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church where he previously served as a deacon. Roger was also a member of the Waynesboro American Legion Post #340 where served as Chaplain. Mr. Baldwin loved drag racing in his beloved car “Old Snort”. Roger had a strong faith, and loved his LORD and savior Jesus Christ. He loved to meet new people and never met a stranger. Roger’s greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family.
On December 4, 1966 he married the former Terry Harper who survives.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Baldwin is survived by his daughters, Tina Lynn Flamino and husband Scott of Mechanicsville, MD, Stacy Lee Schwamp and husband Shawn of Lusby, MD; a brother, Bobby Baldwin of Montana; a sister, Dottie Baldwin of Fredericksburg, VA; his grandchildren, Alex Baldwin, Lucas Flamino, Aiden Schwamp and Skylar Schwamp; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Following Mr. Baldwin’s wishes, his body was donated to the Virginia State Anatomical Program for research, and there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests all memorial contributions be made to the Waynesboro American Legion Post #340, P.O. Box 961, Waynesboro, VA 22980
