Born February 10, 1956 in Charlottesville, he was the son of the late Randolph Addison and Mary Elizabeth (Armistead) Blankenship.
Randy was currently serving as the Associate Pastor of Wayside Baptist Church, where he had worked for 30 faithful years. In addition to serving as the associate pastor, he also acted as the Music Director, a staff evangelist and was the youth leader of the church. Wayside Baptist Church members were family to Randy. Music was a passion of his, and he enjoyed singing and playing the guitar, the mandolin and the piano. He also liked to hunt, shoot, watch and coach sports and spend time with his family. He will be remembered by those who knew him best as a “giver”, as he was always willing to help anyone in need. His smile and affection for his family, his church and close friends will be missed by all.
