Phillip J. Sandridge Jr., 48, of Waynesboro, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 24, 2024. He was born in Waynesboro, Virginia on April 1, 1976 and was the son of Phillip Sandridge Sr. and Susan Sandridge.
Phillip is survived by his wife, Melanie Sandridge, his children Dalton Sandridge, Kailey Sandridge, Waylon Sandridge, Grace Sandridge; his step children Tyler (Haley Hudson) Humphreys and Amanda (Dylan) Bell; his sister, Debbie Sandridge; his parents, Phillip Sandridge Sr. and Susan Sandridge; his father and mother in law, Charles and Toni Holliday; his great grandmother, Shirley Sandridge; and his expected granddaughter, Mallory Bell.
Phillip was well known and loved in the community, largely due to his success with P&S Electric that he and his dad started in 2003. Since his dad’s retirement, Phillip had been working hard to continue the legacy that they had built. It was not unusual for him to complete a lot of calls outside of business hours, especially for the elderly or those in need.
Phillip found the love of his life with Melanie and married her on October 13, 2018. He was already a dedicated father to his children but then continued to do the same with his step children.
He found enjoyment with nature and loved to hunt and fish. He was an avid Eagle Scout from the age of six and shared that passion with his grandfather, Robert Huffman. They both spent time carving totem poles in the scout districts of Virginia. He also made numerous trips to PA to watch dirt track racing with his friends who meant so much to him. He was a huge football and basketball fan, cheering on the Capitals, Commanders, and UVA.
Phillip had the biggest heart, the most contagious laugh, and could quote any movie that was ever made. All those left behind will be heartbroken without him but will be forever better for knowing him.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at Blue Ridge Chapel Church of the Brethren in Waynesboro, Virginia on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mike Woods officiating.
Memorials may be given to the charity of your choice in Phillip’s name.
The family of Phillip wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all of those who have reached out with support and prayers.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
