He was born on May 20, 1969, in Waynesboro, a son of Raymond and Elizabeth Allen Spitler.
He was a member of Wintergreen Christian Church and was employed by Birds Eye Construction.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Cecil and Ela Spitler, his maternal grandparents, Sidney and Trosy Allen.
Survivors include his wife, Ronda Spitler, a son, Dustin Alan Spitler of Afton; two daughters, Casey Dixon of Verona, Nicole Spitler of White Hall; two brothers, Cecil Spitler and his wife Debbie of Afton, and their children, Jimmy Spitler and Ben Spitler of Afton; Andy Spitler of Afton, and his daughter, Samantha Spitler; a sister, Donna White and her husband Herman of Huntersville, NC, and their children, Brandon and Erica White; A very special grandson, Joey Davis, and other grandchildren, Elania Dixon, Breanna Dixon, Caitlynne Fisher.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Wintergreen Christian Church with Pastor Steve Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Herman White, Sidney Baldwin, Jimmy Spitler, Sam Baldwin, Casey Watson, Dennis Morris, Ben Spitler, Justin Dixon and Buck Cash.
Honorary pallbearers will be his nieces, nephews and friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends, one hour prior to the service on Saturday, at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rockfish Valley Fire Department and Rescue Squad, 111000 Rockfish Valley Highway, Afton, VA 22920.
