Linda was born on July 3rd, 1937 in Keyser, WV, the daughter of the late Arnold Lee and Catherine E. (Stine) Stanhagen. She was also preceded in death by her sister Barbara Grubbs; and her half-brother, Mason Stanhagen.
Linda graduated from Keyser High School and Potomac State College with an Associates Degree in accounting. While at Potomac State, she met the love of her life, John Lupis of Piedmont, WV. They were married on September 10th, 1960. John accepted a job with the U.S. Forest Service and his career took them to numerous assignments across the U.S. where she met many wonderful people and made many lasting friendships. She was a very caring person, always reaching out to anyone in need. Affectionately called the “Golden Tornado” at times, she was always anxious to get things done and move ahead. She enjoyed crafts, genealogy, travel, and spending time with friends and family. A very social person, she enjoyed hosting parties and making sure everyone felt welcome and included. While family was Linda’s first priority, she did work a number of jobs over the years, the longest being with the Internal Revenue Service in Ogden, UT, where she retired in 1995.
Linda is survived by her husband John of Waynesboro, VA; son, Jeff Lupis of Bayse, VA; daughter, Lisa Eye and husband Richard of Staunton, VA; a sister, Catherine Cuppett and husband Stuart of Bunker Hill, WV; a grandson, Christopher Eye of Staunton, VA; and a granddaughter, Megan Eye of Sparks, NV.
“Rest in peace Linda. Those blessed to know and love you will miss you deeply.”
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
