Born November 3, 1952 in Waynesboro, she was a daughter of the late Margueritte “Maggie” (Carr) Bolton.
Lelia was a member of West Waynesboro Church of Christ. She greatly enjoyed decorating her home and spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a loving companion, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two brothers, George Freeman “Buddy” Bolton, II and William B. “Bill” Bolton; great-nephew, Mason Lane; and five aunts, Mary Kyger, Helen Floyd, Juanita Kincaid, Ruby Foote, and Jane Coulson.
Survivors include her companion of 30 years, Tony Zimmerman of Waynesboro; sister, Donna B. Beardsworth of Waynesboro; aunt, Pat Gill of Waynesboro; three nieces, Donna Jo Beardsworth Morris, Jennifer Bolton Hughes and husband, Tommy, and Betsy Bolton; nephew, Richard “Ritchie” Beardsworth and wife, Paris; a number of great nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins.
Following a private graveside service, a public memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at West Waynesboro Church of Christ, 2212 Cortland St., Waynesboro with Al Taillon officiating.
There will be no formal viewing or visitation.
