Born on February 27, 1947, in Louisa, VA, he was a son of the late William Lester and Mabel Pearl (Taylor) Deane.
Kenneth served his country in the Army and then 20 years in the National Guard. He loved his country and was proud to have served. He was an avid hunter and loved to fish. He shared many fond memories of times doing both with family and friends over the years. A warm fact, Ken, as he was known to many, and his daughter Kimberly both hunted North Country Lodge in Maine. Each harvesting a beautiful black bear, though they were many years apart it was a common bond that was so very special. Kenny, also known to some by that name, LOVED music. He played the guitar, sang and was part of a couple bands over the years. He loved the Lord and at the time of his passing had been attending Mt. Olivet Church of Staunton Va. with his friend of 20 years, Vickey Wood.
Dad, as he was known to me, gave me my wavy hair, shape of my eyebrows, my height, love for garlic, music, the woods and the season Fall. Autumn, how we love the crisp morning air, the changing colors of the trees, the hunting season and just riding through the mountains, taking in God's creation and gift of beauty. Dad would, each morning, give me his Lyndhurst weather report in response to my good morning, Dad, I love you text. Dad will be missed far more than any words could ever express.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by a brother, Randall Deane of Greene Co., VA; brother-in-law, Phil Sprangler of Glenn Allen, VA.
Surviving are his daughter and only child, Kimberly Conner and husband, Nelson of Cartersville, VA; three grandchildren, Kameron Thomas, Kraig Thomas, Kristopher Thomas; five great-grandchildren, Kalli Jo, Graceyn, Wyatt, Brenden and Karalinn, all of Virginia; brother, Marvin Deane and significant other, Marilyn of Crozet, VA; sisters, Carolyn Sprangler of Glenn Allen, VA, Barbara Putnam and husband, Terrance of Charlottesville, VA, Sharon Harris and husband, Jimmy of Woodbridge, VA; and many nieces and nephews.
