Born October 28, 1955 in Waynesboro, he was a son of the late Arthur Bolton and Vivian (Fisher) Sprouse. On August 24, 1974 he married Julie Stevens. The two shared 50 years of wonderful marriage.
Jeff was a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School Class of 1974. Prior to retirement, he was employed by the former Wayn-Tex and later Mohawk Industries, Inc. where he worked as a maintenance mechanic for 35 years. As an avid outdoorsman, he greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting wood and tending to his vegetable garden. Jeff enjoyed Sundays watching NASCAR races and was a huge Dale Earnhardt fan. He loved his family, and adored spending time with his two granddaughters. He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, and proud Paw Paw.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, A.W. Sprouse; and father-in-law, George Stevens.
Survivors include his loving wife, Julie (Stevens) Sprouse of Waynesboro; son, Michael Sprouse and wife, Sandra, of Waynesboro; daughter, Stephanie Duffy and husband, C.J. of Waynesboro; two very special granddaughters, Reagan and Katelyn Duffy; sisters, Sylvia Wingfield and husband, Gary, of Waynesboro, and Amy DeMoss and husband, Marc, of Waynesboro; sister-in-law, Cindy Sprouse of Waynesboro; aunt, Carrie Fisher of Waynesboro; mother-in-law, Sylvia Stevens of Waynesboro; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Following cremation, the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Lyndhurst Faith & Fellowship Church, 2835 Lyndhurst Road, Waynesboro with Pastor Sabrina von Schilling and Pastor Merle Fisher officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lyndhurst Faith & Fellowship Church.
