She was born in New York City on September 5, 1936. During her life, she worked as a bank teller and antique dealer. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, shopping, decorating, traveling, and reading murder mysteries. She was a devout Catholic and Eucharistic Minister at church. She also enjoyed being a part of the Queens Eagles Camping Club, where she made lifelong friends. She often took road trips where she prided herself on her collection of paper road maps. In the mornings, she enjoyed a cup of decaf coffee, and at night, a glass of red wine.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, William Herlihy.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Herlihy (Ellice Bock), Darragh Herlihy, Maura Flanary (Jamie), and Bernadette Evans (Chris). She is also survived by her twin sister, Joan Teichert (Egon), niece, Niccona Teichert, and three grandchildren: Nicholas Flanary, Emily Flanary, and Liam Evans. Additionally, she is survived by a large extended family and many family-like friends.
Glam Gram will be remembered for the love she shared for her family and friends, her bold style in clothing, her creamed spinach, her gravy, her scrambled eggs, and her egg sandwiches
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Waynesboro.
