She was born in Staunton, VA, on January 21, 1960, a daughter of the late Rick and Ivalet Trail Bowling.
She had previously worked for the DMV. She was a member of Old Providence Presbyterian Church, Verona Moose Lodge and Burkeville Lodge for The Blind.
Her smile and laughter were infectious. She enjoyed the company of friends and valued all the time spent with family. She encouraged everyone to take the time and enjoy the simple things in life and never take one moment for granted. She always made planning a priority so that others would not have to worry.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin Dennis Glass of Waynesboro; her one and only son, Garner Ray Byram, Jr. of Knoxville, TN; a brother, Roger Bowling of Greenville; her extended family, Garner and Georgia Byram and their children and special care giver Elaine Kennedy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Bowling.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. in the Old Providence Presbyterian Church, Steeles Tavern, with the Reverends Max Bolin and Linwood Wilkes officiating.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Glass, Jeremy Glass, Max Glass, Brian Glass, Roger Bowling, Jr. Mike Taylor, Mark Haynes and Danny Kennedy. Honorary pallbearers will be Hank Roadcap, Travis Roadcap, Christopher Cleveland, Cayden Campbell, Alex and Shelia Layton and Willie and Vanessa Anderson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening, June 6, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Waynesboro chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes and other times at the residence, 102 Baynes Rd. Waynesboro.
