Born January 24, 1951 in Richmond, he was a son of the late Royce Davidson and Clara Callie (Lamb) Tooley. On May 31, 2003 he married Jayne Hodges Crawford. The two shared 21 years of wonderful marriage together.
Dwayne was a graduate of the University of Virginia where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and a graduate of James Madison University where he earned a master’s degree in Business Administration. Prior to retirement, Dwayne was employed at Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center where he worked as a budget analyst for 25 years. Those who knew him will remember the patriotism he displayed by participating in the Military Honor Guard Club and WWII Educational Programs. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend to many.
Survivors include his loving wife, Jayne (Hodges) Tooley of Waynesboro; son, Josh Tooley and wife, Bridget of Waynesboro; daughter, Alli Quick and husband, Barney of Waynesboro; stepsons, Trey Crawford and wife, Tara of Kill Devil Hill, NC, and Michael Crawford of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Baylor, Sawyer, and Kerrington Quick, Kaitlyn Jones and husband, Matt, Tyler Crawford, and Kelsey Dudash; great-grandchildren, Remi, Sawyer, and Hudson Jones; sister, Marsha Berg and husband, Scott of Waynesboro; niece, Zoe Berg and husband, Heath Davis; nephews, Aric Berg and significant other, Emily Westkaemper; and father-in-law, John Hodges of Staunton.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro with Pastor Sean Gundry and Pastor Shawna Hiner officiating.
