Diane Wymer

Born January 11, 1950 in Ivy, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Davis and Catherine (Crickenberger) Wood. On August 12, 1972 she married Charles Craig Wymer. The two shared 51 years of wonderful marriage together.

Diane was a graduate of Madison College Class of 1972. Prior to retirement, Diane was employed by Stuart Middle School where she taught seventh grade language arts. Through her gift of teaching, she was able to shape young minds for 33 years. In her spare time, she loved spending time with her family, reading, and gardening. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend to many.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Wood; and a granddaughter, Katelyn Curry.

Survivors include her loving husband, Charles Wymer of New Hope; children, Lucy Cryan and husband, Patrick, of Pawcatuck, CT, Craig Wymer and wife, Donna, of Nampa, ID, and Andrew Wymer and wife, Meghann of Gloucester, VA; six grandchildren, Olivia Harman, Addison Wymer, Lorelei Wymer, Henry Wymer, Charlie Wymer, and John Wymer; brothers-in-law, David Wymer and wife, Janice, of Roanoke, VA and Wayne Wymer and wife, Bonnie, of Stuarts Draft; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Following cremation, the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the funeral home with Pastor Wesley Smith officiating.
