Deborah Jean Loving of Afton passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at her residence.
She was born August 18, 1955, a daughter to the late Gene Franklin and Nancy Ann (Clements) Canipe.
Deborah married Larry W. Loving who survives.
Being the oldest daughter, Debbi always took care of others. Since her childhood she took care of her five younger siblings and her older brother. Her family realized she would always be there for everyone.
Her caring, kindness and endless determination continued throughout her life. Debbi was a teacher, storyteller, dance instructor, nature guide and confidant to the many nieces, nephews and grandchildren she helped raise while their parents worked. They all loved her like a mother.
Even though Debbi never received a degree in nursing, she tended to multiple family members and friends whenever needed. Never asked for anything, but gave completely. Not only did she care for people, she cared about them.
Debbi’s deep love for Larry was a driving force in her life. She will be dearly missed. Debbi took care of many people in their final days and was surrounded by many in hers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anita Carver.
Survivors in addition to her husband include her brothers, Michael Canipe and wife Mary Lou, Anthony Canipe and wife Robin, Darryl Canipe and wife Sue, Michael John Canipe and wife Cristal; sister, Susan C. Morris and husband Steve; step-daughter, Dawn Loving; 3 grandchildren whom she helped raise and called her own; daughter, Mary Phoenix Loving, Raven Loving; son, Brandon Loving; great grandson, Bentley James; granddaughter, Harper Elizabeth Rose, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Following cremation the family will hold a memorial service at the residence at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
