Charles Martin “Chazz” Stone, 66, of Waynesboro passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Born May 19, 1947 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Woodrow and Winifred (Knapp) Stone.
Chazz worked as a truck dispatcher for Smith Transfer and later retired from Houff Trucking after many years of faithful service. Most recently he had been employed at Kohl’s Department Store as a Sales Manager for the Advertising Team. During basketball season, he worked security at John Paul Jones Arena which he enjoyed so much. One of his greatest joys in life was golfing and could almost always be found at the Waynesboro Country Club every weekend and on his days off.
Survivors include his companion, Vicki Sinclair of Waynesboro; his loving children, Brad Stone and fiancé, Laura of Greenville and Ben Stone of Raphine; siblings, Tom Stone and wife, Mary Ann of Radford, VA, Carol Cassidy and husband, Russell of Bluefield, WV and Eileen Stone of Roanoke, VA; his k-9 grandson, Fat Head and Falcon who he deeply loved.
Following cremation, a celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., with Pastor John Ward officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
