Bettie Lou (Ludwick) Thompson

Born February 22, 1933 in Petersburg, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Thomas L. and Ethel (Kennedy) Ludwick.

Ms. Thompson was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Staunton. She was a member of the Waynesboro Women of the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed spending time with family, singing, gardening and jigsaw puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Robert Leonard Thompson; as well as brothers, Buddy and Tommy Ludwick.

Survivors include her loving life companion of 34 years, Steven K. Guerrini of Waynesboro; son, James H. Thompson, Jr. and wife Teresa of Stuarts Draft; daughters, Deborah T. Roughgarden and husband Salvatore of Stuarts Draft and Cindy T. Warren and husband Ronald of Staunton; sister, Barbara Garrison and husband Sherman of Staunton; brother, Carl Ludwick and wife Ellen of Roanoke; grandchildren, Sabrina Thompson, Jeremy Thompson, Michele Godinez, Stephanie Meeks, Ashley Thompson, Tamala Claytor, Daniel Warren, J.T. Thompson, Kristy Campbell, Samantha Bean, Desiray Warren, Nathalie Warren and Alex Warren; seventeen great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Riverview Cemetery with Dr. Randy Spencer, Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Staunton.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday, August 8, 2011 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main Street.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1445 Rio Road East # 104, Charlottesville, VA 22901-1751.
