in Baltimore Maryland, he was the son of the late John Curtis Hayes and Leatrice Clautte (Johnson) Hayes
of Fort Defiance, Virginia. He graduated from Kenwood High School in 1982. Anthony served in the
United States Army in the late 1980s and worked as a Salesman for several companies up until about 2011
when he took on the job of full-time caregiver to both his parents up until September of last year.
Anthony was the loving father to his son, Craig Wayne Hayes of Parkville Maryland. He loved baseball,
football and NASCAR racing. He had many friends.
In addition to both his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece, Julia Hayes.
Left to cherish his memories are his son, Craig Hayes of Parkville, MD; Craig’s mother, Eva (Brady) Kline of Parkville, MD; brothers, Randal Hayes of Stewartstown PA, and Jason Hayes and wife, Diane of White Marsh, MD; nephew, Jeff Hayes and wife, Yvonne of Monks Corner, SC; great-niece, Briana Hayes of Monks Corner, SC; and close friends, Timothy Coleman and Joe Ellinger.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Culpeper National Cemetery, 501 East Chandler St., Culpeper, VA.
