Jay worked as a pipe fitter at Ford Motor Company where he retired after 32 years. One of his biggest accomplishments was to be retired and collecting his Ford Pension longer than he worked. Jay had a love for cars, especially the Ford Mustang, which he owned many of. He was a Marine and loved to tell his stories of his days in the military. He also loved hunting and bowling.
He loved and cared for his parents, and after their passing he married the love of his life, Ivy Rae Honey. He took care of her all her life through her passing, on February 10, 1996.
Jay loved living in Florida where he & Ivy retired to. He especially loved visitors coming to Florida. He also loved going on the roller coasters with all the nieces and nephews. If you knew Jay, you also knew his passion to go out to eat. He loved to draw & build things out of wood. He made trains, carousels, even an airplane.
To cherish his memory, Jay leaves behind his sister Mary Roth, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Also, his best buddy and great nephew Rodney Koroleski Jr. They had a remarkable bond, it started the summer after Ivy’s passing and just continued.
Jay is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Sarah, his beloved wife Ivy, and his siblings Robert, Lewis, Sylvia, Thomas (Marilyn), Julia (Ray) Perusse, his niece Cindy Smith, nephews Raymond Perusse and Joseph Moon.
