Duane Arthur Bair

Duane Arthur Bair, age 85, of Monroe, Michigan passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Loving husband of Mary Anne for 33 years. Beloved father of Felicia (Moses) Lanham, Duane (Angela) Bair Jr, Wendy, Christine (Marty) Chambon, and Gregory (Holly) Jaudzems. Proud grandfather of Amanda (John), Glen (Sam), Wendy Ann (Matt), Moses "Trey", Cameron, Calista, Emily, Eric (Katie), Paul, Rachel, and Allison.

Duane was preceded in passing by his parents Argo and Jayne; siblings Harry, Wyman, and William; and grandchildren Everitt and Jonah.

Duane proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a ship boiler inspector. His original ambition in life was to be a farmer, and he studied general agriculture for two years at Michigan State University. He then went on to spend 30 years as a semi-truck driver for various companies, boasting over three million miles with no accidents. Duane enjoyed gardening, helping others, as well as swimming and fishing on Long Lake. Most importantly, he was a man of profound faith who truly committed to the words of God. He will be remembered for being a loving and caring spirit.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be directed to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.

A visitation will be held Saturday, October 19, from 1:00-2:00pm at St Paul's United Methodist Church, 201 S Monroe St, Monroe, MI 48161, followed by a funeral service beginning at 2:00pm. He will be laid to rest at La Salle Cemetery.
