Diana Lynn Crow passed away on July 3rd, 2024 after suffering a massive stroke. She was transferred from the ICU to a Hospice House where she spent her last few days on earth surrounded by her daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren. She transitioned very peacefully with her daughter holding her hand.
Diana was a loving mother, sister, wife, grandmother and friend. She was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan on April 23, 1947, to Betty Yenney and LaVerne Gibson. She went to middle school and was friends with Bob Seger. She was also prom queen of her high school where she played clarinet. After Diana graduated high school, she married Michael Coombs. They had 3 children together and later divorced. In 1977, she met Roger Crow. They married and raised Roger’s two sons and Diana’s three children together in Wayne, MI. Diana worked many years for Unistrut as an intake specialist. She furthered her education by receiving her Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate. She worked some time at a Neurology office then got a job with Heritage Hospital as an admissions coordinator and emergency room clerk.
Her surviving family members include her 3 children Daniel (Mayra), Rachelle (Linda), and Renea (Jonathan). She had several grandchildren whom she loved dearly including Dan Jr., Sabrina, Jennifer, and her husband Aaron, Benjamin, Alannah, and Alivia. Her great-grandchildren included Lily, Seth, Jude, and Phebe, whom she was able to visit a few weeks before passing. Diana was surrounded by love from her family and friends. She is now reunited with departed family members including her great grandparents, grandparents, parents, her sister Karen, her husband Roger, granddaughter Alannah, and very close friend Bobby Piscopink.
Diana lived a very full life raising children and traveling the United States and Alaska on motorcycle and by motor home with her very loving husband Roger. They enjoyed camping, traveling, and spending time with their children and grandchildren. They spent much of their time attending their children's and grandchildren's sporting and musical events. Diana loved baking especially for the family during holidays. She always had a beautiful manicure and pedicure, little things brought her joy. All her children’s friends called her “mom” because she was warm, nurturing, and welcoming. She also enjoyed having pets including cats and dogs. With 5 children, pets, and 2 adults, the house was always full.
In the beginning of 2022, Diana decided it was time to get out of the cold and go live with her daughter Renea and her husband Jonathan, two grandchildren, and their pets in Florida. She thoroughly enjoyed being surrounded by family. She often said, “The weather here is so beautiful. I don’t miss snow one bit.” At that point, she needed help managing her diabetes and was later diagnosed with early-stage of Alzheimer's. She lived her last years happily in Florida. She always had a hug and a compliment for friends and family who came to visit. She was able to attend many of her granddaughter’s volleyball games and concerts in Florida. She also truly enjoyed going to a professional symphony concert with her family. It is comforting knowing she spent her last years surrounded by love.
