Bobbie Jean Wallace

Bobbie Jean Wallace was born in Memphis, Tennessee on May 30, 1940 to Leroy and Carrie Hudson. She was one of seven children. Helen Samuels and Leroy Hudson Jr. both preceded her in death, Gladys Welch, Robbie Smith, Aline Grover and Alexander Hudson.

Bobbie attended Florida Street School and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis, Tennessee.

Bobbie accepted Christ at an early age at White Stone Missionary Baptist Church.

Bobbie married the late Eddie Wallace Jr. and to that union were born five children. One child Debbie Wallace preceded her in death.

Bobbie was employed with GM Fisher Body as a seamstress until she retired and later employed with the Detroit Public Schools as a Bus Attendant. Although Bobbie couldn't drive, she could direct you anywhere around the Detroit area. She loved soul food and could tell you where any soul food restaurant was from the east side of Detroit to the west. You need a lottery number, just call and ask her, she can give you the number right off the top of her head. And she had a love for all people. If she knew you had a birthday coming up, you can look to get a birthday card from her every year. She loved giving and loved receiving cards. Bobbie looked forward to going to the music concerts in the park every year. Call Bobbie, she answers the phone: (What's the boogie?) Trying to tell her some gossip she already knows. Her reply would be: Do you know who I am? I'm the Governor... That was so funny to her. Bobbie passed away at home with her loved ones on October 30, 2023.

She leaves to cherish her memories Felecia Wallace, Carol Huff, Ricky Wallace (Glovita) and India Wallace (Timeka). Dearest grandmother of five: Koa, Korey, Ricky, Jermany, ReShawn. Great grandmother of 11: Xavier, Chardey, JaCiah, JaKhi, Khari, Jakari, Logan, RaShawn, Ramir, Ariana, and Denim. And a host of family and friends.
