Phillip Edward Nickels Sr., age 77, went to be with his Lord Thursday, April 10, 2025. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Nickels; mother, Barbara Nickels; brother, Dennis (Carol) Nickels. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rose Nickels; children Phillip Nickels Jr. (Steve Andrews), Keith Nickels, and Kimberly Nickels (Mark Hodyna); grandson, Leo Nickels; siblings Patricia Wagstaff, Kathleen (Alex) Vanderweert, and Edward (Jane) Nickels Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Phil was devoted to his family and had a great appreciation for each family member, his church family at St. Therese Catholic Church, and the Wayland community.
A Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at St. Therese of Lisieux Church, 128 Cedar St., Wayland, MI 49348, with visitation from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Phil, contributions may be made to Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan (https://epilepsymichigan.org/).
