Laurence Oetman

Larry A. Oetman, age 78 of Wayland, went to be with the Lord, Monday, August 31, 2015 after a courageous battle of Heart Disease and leg amputation. Surviving is his wife Arlene, married for 55 years; his siblings: Dave (Arlene) Oetman, Louis (Florence Oetman) Miedema, along with many nieces and nephews. He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Donna Oetman, Beverly (the late Kevin) Post, Steve (Rayanna) Oetman, and John (Shari) Oetman; 10 loved grandchildren: Matt & Kelly (Post) Hirdes, Kyle & Marcia Post, Calvin & Kendra (Post) VanOpstall, and Kurtis Post, Tim, Nathan and Tyler Oetman, Samantha & Justin Oetman and Brooklyn Oetman; and one great-grandson Kevin Hirdes. Larry loved his church, community, and especially his farm. He enjoyed having coffee with his friends at the Auction House CafAC.. Larry was a lifelong member at Wayland Christian Reformed Church, where his family will receive visitors on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at the Wayland Christian Reformed Church Education Building, 303 East Elm Street. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Wayland Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Jerry Zandstra officiating. Interment will be at Hooker Cemetery.
