Laura Mae Ayers, age 91, of Wayland, passed away April 13, 2013. She is survived by her children: John (Gerry) Ayers and Robert (Laurel) Ayers; grandchildren: John Charles and Amaya; 5 step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas A.J. Ayers in 2004. Laura Mae retired as the City of Wayland treasurer. She was a member of the Wayland United Methodist Church, where she was previously the treasurer and the organist. Also, she was a member of the Prudence Nobles Chapter #366, Hickory Corners O.E.S. A funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 A.M. at the Wayland United Methodist Church, with Pastor Gary Bondarenko officiating. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Wayland. Family will greet friends and relatives 6-8 PM, Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 312 N. Main St. Wayland, MI.
