Do not weep for Ken, celebrate with great joy that he is in a better place now. Ken did everything that God expected of him during his time on earth and so God called him home. He was a good husband, a good father and a good grandfather(and great grandfather) . I will never quit loving him.

Many think that “whistle while you work” came from some animated film, which I rather doubt. I think they took the idea from you plus there was your hardy laugh and good nature. 

Some of my earliest memories of our time together was fishing, starting way back when I was a youngster pulling perch from Lake Michigan by the bucket. We had various fishing adventures through the years. Our last fishing trip allowed me to hear your laugh ring out over the smallest catch.

You had many skills Dad. Rarely did you live somewhere without a garden, producing big, red, juicy tomatoes.  Or  big red strawberries. Tasty green beans. Zucchini. Etc.  You could rebuild a car engine. Build a house. Fix whatever was broken or improve it.  These were skills you taught me and I use today.

We are Jesus followers. Thank you for allowing us to find Jesus and experience life with Him. Since you drew your last breath, I have been comforted by this passage:

“...For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died…” (verse 14 from I Thessalonians 4:13-18)

In this we are given the picture of falling asleep comforting each other by the hope Jesus gives.

My grandpa was one of the most wonderful men you could ask to have around you, he was an amazing grandfather and an amazing father to my mom and my uncle.. and if they didn’t have my wonderful grandma as well, I really don’t know where they alone would be much less myself, nobody could possibly learn a bigger lesson from my grandpa Ken. And the lesson he taught me was kindness, acceptance and hard work get you much further than being a bad person. He also, with his time at General Motors, inspired me to work on what they produce today to the public. He taught me to work with my hands first and I chose what to do with them afterwards. From being a soldier and then working at General Motors to working on a farm; I’ve learned a lot about life from his stories, work ethic and him being a great person in general to how to fix a house, a car, a truck or really anything that involves some skills and tools in general and that’s something you’ll never forget, he got a fast pass through the gates that day he left this earth and he’s going to fly high above us and keep every good memory with us every single day, and all my family and I can say is thank you. He taught us all so much and he’ll make sure that he watches above us and makes sure we remember said lessons he taught without himself or us even knowing at the time, but we definitely know and learn now as we grow. If we’re growing in our minds, body, soul, or really any other category of life, he always was great to talk to, had a story or some great advice. He will never be forgotten, his lessons will never be forgotten, and above all, he was a man to aspire to. Love you Grandpa.

Ken was a amazing guy! He was patient, kind, caring and compassionate. Ken was a very talented guy! When we were working on one of our friends home   Ken was always friendly.

Ken - You are a shining example of what love speaks, acts and looks like.  What a privilege to know you.  Thank you for shining your light with me.  My deepest condolences to the family.

This world is a lesser place without Ken. He helped save my life, and continuously provided a great example for me. I call him Dad, because he earned it with his love and good acts. I’ll never forget him or his kindly nature. A beautiful soul we need more of. Rest in Peace and may the eternal light of God shine upon you. And, Thanks Dad.
