Kenneth “Ken” DeHamer, age 91, passed away at home, surrounded by his family. Ken enjoyed gardening, spending time outdoors, and being with his family. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. While stationed in Korea, he drove and operated a radio Jeep. Ken was a proud father and grandfather and had a heart of love and gold for his family. Most importantly, he cherished his faith in Christ.
Ken will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 34 years, Delores DeHamer; children Brent (Beth) DeHamer, Tami (Kirk) Victory, Terri (Kevin) Fortmeyer, Jennifer Meyer, Ed Brooks; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many extended friends and family. Ken is preceded in death by his parents Peter and Betty DeHamer; sisters Penny Van Gelderen, Mary DeGraaf, Betty Hopkins, and Lois Delnay.
A memorial service celebrating Ken’s life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Calvary Church of Wayland, 304 S. Main St., Wayland, MI 49348, with visitation from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. In memory of Ken and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wayland Christian Neighbors Food Pantry.
