Jason Douglas Morgan “Waweakgesik”, age 44 of Wayland, was born February, 13, 1973 and was called home January 2, 2018. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ed and Margaret Sipkema “Mom and Dad”. He will be greatly missed by his birth-mother Angela Thunder Hawk; siblings, Mark Farley, David Farley, Hawk Thunder Hawk; aunts and uncles, Robert Olivarri, Phyllis and Monte Davis, Tracy Gallacher, Brenda Sipkema; cousins, Jeff, Monte Jr., Samantha, Sarah, and Sabrina; along with many nieces and nephews. Jason was a proud member of the Gun Lake Potawatomi Tribe. He was a Bodewadmi student and teacher. Jason loved his Pottawatomi culture by attending local tribal events and pow wows. A service for Jason will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Luella Collins Community Center, 419 126th Ave, Wayland. A time to visit with Jason’s family will be held Friday, January 5, 2018 from 4-7 pm and from 10 am to 12 pm Saturday, January 6, 2018, all at the Luella Collins Community Center, the burial will be at the Bradley Indian Cemetery with a luncheon to follow back at the Luella Collins Community Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be used to purchase city benches in Jason’s memory.
