Curtis Dale Hinkle, age 78 of Wayland, Michigan, passed away in his home August 2, 2024. Born and raised in West Virginia, he moved to Michigan at age 17. He was a man of many talents, so long as it involved using his hands, from almost 50 years of automotive mechanics, to playing poker and shooting pool with his friends and loved ones. There wasn’t a single thing that needed fixed that he wasn’t able to handle. At any given time, you could find him under a car hood with Conway Twitty, George Jones, or Bob Seger playing in the background, or you’d find him with his feet propped up and a spaghetti Western on the television. Curtis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a great man.
He is preceded in death by his partner, Charla Agnes Hinkle; He is survived by his daughter, Emma Shell (Fred); grandson, Jacob Hinkle; granddaughters Samantha Stephey (Brandon), Amanda Shell; and two great-grandchildren. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.kubiakcookwayland.com in their guestbook online.
