Andrew “Andy” Pigeon, age 69, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 13, 2018. He will be lovingly missed by his wife of 34 years, Deborah Pigeon; siblings Mary Pigeon, Helen Hillman, Steve (Kitt) Pigeon, Art “Tata” (Pat) Pigeon, Norm “Deedo” (Leslie) Pigeon, John “Ringo” (Loraine) Pigeon, Cindy “Sister” (Faith) Pigeon; all of his favorite nieces and nephews and his four-legged companions, Wasken, Max, Milo and Millie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund & Jennie Pigeon; sister, Sandra Rose; brother, Edmund.
Andy proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he was a radio repairman and received two bronze stars for his service. Andy worked most of his adult life in concrete construction. He was a faithful member of his church, Harvest Assembly of God. He spent many hours volunteering at Christian Neighbors Food Pantry in Wayland. In his free time, he enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden and traveling “up north” to the Mackinaw Bridge.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 17, 2018 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Luella Collins Community Center, 419 126th Ave., Wayland, MI 49348. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the Luella Collins Community Center at 11am with visitation from 10-10:45am prior to the service. Pastor Bob Fuller officiating. Andy will be laid to rest at the Bradley Indian Mission Cemetery. In honor of Andy and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Christian Neighbors Food Pantry in Wayland.
