Born in Portland, Maine, August, 1951, the daughter of Robert E Wilson and June (Spencer) Wilson, Sara Elizabeth
Hale "Betsey" Marshall, 62, of Oakland passed away suddenly on August 14 at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta, following a long battle with cancer.
Betsey and her family moved to North Vassalboro in 1963. She graduated from Waterville High School in 1969 and went on to pursue her Bachelor's in Education at the University of Maine at Orono, graduating in 1977.
She married David L Marshall in 1980 and soon after had a daughter, Amanda.
She spent several years teaching in local schools. When she wasn't camping, fishing, or hunting with David, she would be in her garden or on the golf course with her best friends Roberta and Eisa.
She was dearly loved by her husband, David L. Marshall and her daughter, Amanda Marshall and her fiancé , Charlie Cahoon. She will be missed by her step-daughter, Tina Morales and her husband, Paulo, of Brentwood New Hampshire, and their children Nicolas and Sofia. Betsey will be missed by her step-son, David A. Marshall and his wife, Alice Moran Marshall of Newburyport, Massachusetts and their children Madeline, Danny and Rowan.
She was dearly loved by her sister Charlotte "Charlie" Burnham of Bristol, RI and her husband Bennett and their children, Nicholas Burnham of Bristol, RI and Eliza Thornton and her husband, Thomas Thornton of Middleboro, Massachusetts; a brother, Rev. Andrew G Wilson of Fredericksburg, Pennsylvania, and his wife, Zoann, his daughter Rebecca Della Mura, her husband Scott of North Carolina; and a second brother, Robert S "Bobby" Wilson of Richmond.
She is survived by her uncle and aunt and their children, Jean and Angie Wilson of Falmouth, Jeannine Wilson of Old Orchard Beach, Kathy Wilson of Portland, Diana Wilson and her partner, Kathie Neddeau, and their son, Benjamin. She is survived by her uncle, Robert A Ames of Cumberland Foreside, Maine, and his daughter, and her husband, Susan and Ron Ziegler of Pennsylvania and cousin Cordean Johnson and her husband, Raul of Washington.
Visiting hours for her many friends and loving family are Friday, August 22 from 9:00 to 11:00 in the morning, at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St, Waterville, Maine. A funeral service will follow at the Veterans Cemetery Chapel in Augusta at 12 noon. The service will be lead by the Rev. Andrew G Wilson.
